The Road To Freedom

How much freedom do we allow ourselves, if we are always monitoring what we do? We create so many boundaries that prevent us from being who we are meant to be. We tell ourselves that we are following the universal path, but how many of us know exactly where it leads us? Because we are scared of doing wrong, we take little steps so that we don't fall. But it's in falling that we are free to make mistakes and grow. It's by experimenting and trying new things that we are free to have experiences that we never envisioned. If we allow ourselves the freedom to trust that the universe will support and nurture us, we may see that we have always had more options to choose from than we realized. Although the road to freedom may be challenging, it provides us the opportunity to be truly who we are meant to be. Today, take chances. Try at least one thing that may be pushing your boundaries. Give yourself the freedom to become.
It doesn't matter if others don't understand, create...

(There is a struggle that lay within me all the time of how much freedom do I allow myself. I think that the concept of being free to do as I wish is more complicated than I realized. For I can no more do what I want than to push aside my cultural values. Am I still free to be, if my decisions are made base on the good for all instead of one? I guess the point is that for me, I am free to choose who I want to be at this moment. No more, no less.)

Seeing Through My Eyes

What we see so clearly may not be as clear to others. Coming from our perspective, we take it for granted that others see things the same way as we do. That's when we forgo explaining things, as well as, we could because it would be difficult describing something that to us is so obvious. But that's where the problem begins, when we assume that others see through our eyes. Miscommunication leads to frustration, which is challenging for even the best of relationships. It's knowing that only we can see through our eyes and it is up to us to learn to communicate in detail what we see, so there is no confusion. There is so much we can share and learn from each other, if we only have the patience. Today, hear what others have to say. You can learn so much by listening to others as they describe their experiences. Close your eyes and see what they see through their eyes.
Come spend the day with me...

(It's funny how easy it is to misunderstand what we say to each other. It's as if what is going on in my head, is not being relayed to anyone but myself.  Was it that I'm not communicating what I was thinking? And even then, how can I ever make you see what I see?  It's time to take a deep breath and begin again with the understanding that no one will ever see exactly what I see.)

Finding Your Way

Sometimes life is like a maze that is difficult to maneuver. Looking at it from the outside, it seems easy enough. But when we are actually trying to find our way, it becomes confusing. In fact, when we watch others struggle to find the best path to take, we suddenly become experts. We know exactly what route for them to take because we can see the whole maze from our view. But when we, ourselves are going through the maze of life, it is only by trail and error that we find the best path to take. Finding our way may not be easy, but when we finally make it to where we want to be then we are content. Today, think about where you'd like to be. All paths lead to success, you just need to find which one you'd like to take. Although they are all different, you'll still experience what you need to in order to get you to where you want to be.
All paths lead you to where you need to be...

(Sometimes I question whether I'm making the right decisions. If all paths lead me to where I have to be, then it wouldn't matter what I decide to do. I know that I could choose a more difficult path, which I seem to be doing so far. Sometimes it's easier for me to let life lead me, instead of me controlling my destiny. Today is one of those days when I trust the universe more than I do myself, in finding my way through life.)

Life Learning

We often hear we are students of life and that our experiences make us who we are. But how many times do we have to repeat the same lessons throughout our life. After about the third time, it gets a little frustrating because we're sure that we solved the issue that was presented to us. But as we know, nothing is ever that simple. It's not about overcoming our weaknesses, it's how well do we respond when it happens again. Are we doing the same thing that we've always done or do we acknowledge what is happening and do something different. Life learning is not only about what we've learned through our experiences, but how well we incorporate what we have learned in the moment. Today, take in all you can. For whether it's good or bad, you have the opportunity to learn. Make every moment count.
There is beauty in brick and mortar...

(I've always said I was a life long learner because I enjoy my academics. I never associated life learning with life lessons. If this is so, then my struggles will never end. Although I think I'm finally getting some of the lessons because I acknowledge what I'm going through a lot faster. But it doesn't make them any easier. Sometimes I wish I could get a syllabus or at least get a grade in how I'm progressing. If anything I've learned that there really is no end to my life as a student.)

One Day

How often do we say "One day, I'm going to", but that "one day" never comes. It's not for our lack of trying to work these things into our busy schedule. Somehow they always get pushed aside by the priorites in our life at that time. But thinking back to the time when we said, "one day", what was it that we were experiencing that made us say these words. If we put together all the things that "one day" we'd like to do, we'd have a long list of things that may bring us joy. We often push aside what brings us happiness for what we feel we need to accomplish to have a successful life. But if we were to live for the moment instead of waiting for "one day", we may be doing what we were meant to do. Today, play to your heart's content. It's time to be the child that you've put aside for so long. You don't have to wait for "one day" because the moment is now.
These flowers are like exploding stars...

(Today, I found myself saying "One day, I'd like to come back to Seattle." I immediately wondered what would make me come back.  It was sad to think that my happiness wasn't reason enough. Seattle's beauty fills my spirit. Isn't that what matters. I think it would be a shift in thinking...including myself to the list of people I need to nurture. For otherwise, "one day" will never come.)

What Inspires You

Why is that when we hear or see something that inspires us, we take it for granted that others will feel the same as we do. We are all unique and have had different experiences. If this is so, then why would we assume that others would react with the same degree of feeling to what inspires us. Have we changed because of what we've experienced? The next time something inspires us, if we close our eyes and let it flow through us, we may see all that is possible before us. Inspire to be. Today, capture the moment. You are no more or less than anyone else. Be the inspiration that you seek in others.
Life is inspirational...

(Today I heard a speech that I thought was inspirational. But when I asked how others felt about it, they said it was boring. Was I mistaken? I realized at that moment, that what inspires us is for us alone to experience. It's one of those universal messages that is for us to grasp and integrate into our life. It's to reflect upon, not to disseminate to all that I know. I need to own what inspires me, so I can be the best I can be in that moment.)

Creating A LIfe You Were Meant To Lead

How are we to create a life we were meant to lead if we're not sure where we are going? Many of us are unsure of our purpose in life and seek answers to our questions. But our questions remain unanswered. Although we may not be going through difficulties, we wonder if we are supposed to be doing something else. How would we know if we are living our purpose? If we were, wouldn't our life be less ordinary? It is in living our life that we find our purpose. It's experiencing all that the universe offers us that we create the life we were meant to lead. We don't have to wait for our questions to be answered to live a purposeful life. Today, go where your spirit leads you. Living with compassion for yourself and others will keep you on your path.

Do something different today...

(I was guilty of asking too many questions, but now I tend to just go with the flow. I guess it has to do with my belief that I am where I'm supposed to be. I'm not sure if I'm creating the life I'm meant to lead as opposed to just living life. I think if we get too caught up with the "how things are supposed to be". I think it's easier to just let things be. Today, I'm flying out to the Northwest and intend to just go with the flow and enjoy life.)

What Do You Believe In?

We may go through life not questioning what we believe in. A moment of reflection may seem self indulgent when trying to meet our responsibilities. We may live day to day because it's easier to grasp what is in front of us then to envision a dream. Many of us hope for the best when we plan for the future. The only time that we question our beliefs is when our life turns upside down and the answers to our questions are not so clear. It is at that time that we pray to those we feel may be of help. Our faith which lay dormant comes alive as our belief that we are not alone in our journey becomes real again. Know that when our faith to believe becomes part of our daily life, then we will become all that we can be no matter what is happening in the world. Today, believe in yourself. You are the key that makes all things happen. When you have faith that you are all that you can be, then miracles will flow.
When you believe, anything is possible...

(What I believe in changes everyday. My faith is what makes me who I am and has lasted the test of time. What I believe in comes from deep within me. I think it's so personal. I feel that you can tell what a person believes in by their words, actions, and thoughts. We are what we believe. I believe that there are miracles yet to come in all of us.)

What Have You Learned Today?

Everyday we have the opportunity to learn new things. To venture further than we've ever gone before. To explore beyond the boundaries that we've created. To become more than we ever envisioned. We are what we experience. We can follow what the universe has planned for us if we choose to. By opening ourselves to the possibilities that are waiting for us, we can become what we were meant to be. Today, be an active participant to what life has to offer. You learn more about yourself, by the mistakes you make. By taking risks you will learn more about yourself, than sitting on the sidelines.
Sometimes we need a little light to shine our way...

(I feel that the more I know, the less I really know. When asked what do I know for sure, I don't know anything for sure. Everything changes the everyday. Sometimes I feel adamant about things, then a moment later I question myself. I think we are all life time learners. If I am what I experience, then I say bring it on.)

In the Silence, We Will Find The Answer

There are things that happen that there are no answers to. We may ask why, but there may not be a response. There may not be an answer to our questions because it wouldn't make sense to us. It's part of human nature to want to resolve the "whys" in life, but often times it's not for us to answer. What we experience becomes part of who we are. So it may not be as important to find the answers to our questions, as it is to know that no matter what is happening in our life that we continue to be compassionate to ourselves and others. Sometimes the only thing we can do during these difficult times is to be silent. For in the silence, we will find the answer that is needed at this moment. Today, stop asking questions. Live your life by listening to others. Know that you are part of the answer to the question you've been asking.
Silence can be found anywhere...

(When senseless things happen, I often wonder what the purpose was. It's a rhetorical question, because I know there is no answer. Yet, I ask. Somewhere in the universe, it makes sense. If everything is a part of something and we all interconnect with each other, then there is a bigger picture to all of this confusion. Then again I'm not sure I want to know. For if I knew it all, then life will no longer be the mystery that I look forward in solving. I live for another day, that I can make my life better.)

When Spirits Collide

There are times in life when we meet someone for the first time and it's has if we've known them for all our life. Although we've never met them before, there is recognition. Whether we believe in past lives or not, they are as familiar to us as we are to our close friends. Many of us doubt our first impression. How is it that we connect with someone, when there is no reason to do so? The universe has plans for us that we are not privy to. Can we accept these people into our life, when our spirit has already open the door? Sometimes when spirits collide, we have no choice but to see how they will impact who we will become. When we follow the light of our spirit, we will never get lost. Today, you are the light that shines. The people that come into your life are the very ones who are attracted to your spirit. You will help them, as they will help you to realize your dreams.
When spirit come together, we fly...

(This morning I saw a group of women meeting on the beach. They sat in a circle and were in deep conversation. It was a quiet time with no one else on the beach but themselves. They were sister spirits meeting and joining in fellowship. I could feel the love and peacefulness that flowed through the group. I truly believe there is a time when spirits must come together to acknowledge, nurture, and support each other in their growth and healing. We are all here for each other. - D, I believe in your work with women. You are the light for those who need direction.)

A Gift Of The Spirit

Although the people we love pass on, they leave us with a gift of their spirit. Memories of our time with them stay with us long after they are gone. It only takes a second to recapture the moments we shared with them. We relive the time we spent with them, as if it were only yesterday. It doesn't seem to matter how long they've been gone, the emotions that we experience are still fresh in our mind. We were together before we were born and will find each other after we have passed on. We are not only our physical bodies, but of the universal spirit that flows through all of us. Know that when a loved one passes on, their spirit continues to be with us until we meet again. Today, acknowledge all the spirits that surround you. They are here to support you in all your endeavors and to watch over you. You are blessed with all spirits who love you.
Flowers for those we've loved...

(I truly believe that although our loved ones pass on, they are still with us. It gives me comfort knowing that they are watching over me. It also makes me think twice about the things that I do. I question what would they think about my decisions. It's funny that I think more about their opinion now that they are not here. I know that even if they are not here physically, their spirit still lingers on.- Mrs. W, your smile and laughter will always be etched in my mind.)

Creating A Healing Environment

When we think about creating a healing environment, we tend to concentrate on our physical surroundings. How can we create a retreat that brings relaxation and peace to our life? Although aesthetics may calm our spirit, being around toxic people will destroy our efforts very quickly. We may overlook the negative people that we choose to be with, then wonder why our place of healing doesn't work as well as it should. When we create a healing environment, remember to include not only your physical surroundings but the people you choose to include in your life. Let your spirit guide you towards what heals your soul. Today, do what makes you feel good. Know that in order to find your source of enlightenment, you have to be true to yourself. Trust that you will find a place of healing when you gather the courage to ask for what you deserve.
Ocean life is calming to the soul...

(Creating a healing environment is more difficult than it would seem to be. When I decorated my home, I only thought about what would bring me peace and quiet. I didn't factor in my family. Which I should have because when everyone is home, it's chaotic. But now that I think about it, that kind of chaos is healing. Being around the people I love is the best retreat I can ask for. S, R, Q - can't wait to have a full house again!)

Being Part Of The Bigger Picture

When we're not feeling well and things don't seem to be making sense, it's time to just go with the flow.  Turn things over to the universe and let things happen at it's own pace. When we don't have the energy to control is when the best things happen to us. We become part of the bigger picture without any effort. In our struggle to work things out, we inadvertently block out what should be done. When we release all of what we can not control, then the universe can flow around us again. It's time to accept how much happens without our direction. Today, be at peace. Let everything flow without a plan. You will be one with the universe, when you understand how little you know.
Everything changes, but stays the same...

(The more I release what I can not control, the more the universe takes over. It's time to put theory to the test. I'm too tired today to challenge the world, yet I feel more at peace. Let's see what can happen when I just watch the world go by for a moment. I imagine the lights will turn on where it was dark. Being in control has been exhausting, I'm going to take a back seat for awhile and enjoy what comes.)

Talking To A Wall

Sometimes no matter how good our intentions are, others may not be ready to accept our help. It may be difficult to understand why someone would turn away from us. It could be that they feel they already have the answers to their problems and want to resolve their situations by themselves. We shouldn't be surprised or hurt, if talking to them is like talking to a wall. By adding our non-solicited advice, we are not respecting their space to grow. At some point, we need to acknowledge that we don't have all of the answers. We need to remember to ask others if they need our help before jumping in and trying to solve the problems of the universe. Be compassionate of others, but respect their right for privacy. Today, listen. Observe how others communicate. Do they jump in before others finish speaking? How well of a listener are you? Be the friend, you want others to be to you.
Come walk with me in silence...

(Why do you ask me questions, if you don't want to hear my answers? Why talk to me, when you don't want to hear my voice? Why walk away as if I what I have to say has no meaning to you? Why try to change who I am to be someone less than who I deserve to be? Talking to a wall is less hurtful than speaking to someone who doesn't respect who I am and what I have to say.)

Loving Unconditionally

How easily it is for us to give our heart away when we fall in love. Our love seems to have no bounds when we are in love. But how many of us are able to say that we love unconditionally? To give love without asking for anything back. To have no expectation of the other person, except to love them as they are. Believing in the goodness you see in their spirit and in their faults which only make them the human we all are. To love them even when we don't understand them. To accept them for who they are, not for who they might be one day. To know that our love transcends all judgement and inspite of all things we love more each day. We all have the ability to love unconditionally, but only a few of us experience a love as great as this. Today, as you share your love with others, remember to receive what others give back to you. You deserve no less than what you have been giving to others. You are part of the circle of love. Now it's your turn to receive.
When we're really quiet, it's amazing what we find...

(As humans, I think we all have expectations of others, but this is part of loving. To expect the best from someone, yet understanding their failings. I love my children without condition, but do I have expectations of them. Absolutely. I guess loving them unconditionally and still expecting them to  be the best they can be is still okay.)

Keeping In Touch

How many times do we tell people that we will keep in touch with them? We mean it at the time, but then life gets in the way. Being busy doesn't excuse us from keeping in contact with friends and family. It's easy to lose track of time, but days go by so quickly that we can't recapture what has been lost. It's not our intention to forget about others, but our mind often gets distracted. If we're not mindful of how valuable our relationships are, then what we have may not last very long. When we're lucky enough to share our spirit with someone special, it's important that we keep connected with them. Today, keep your ties strong with those that mean something to you. For they are part of your past, present, and future.
Spend time with your loved ones whenever you can...

(I'm guilty of losing track of time and not keeping in touch with those who I care for. But when we do connect, it's as if we were never apart. I value my friendships because they are a very important part of who I am. They remind me of how much better I can be.)

Following Our Own Path

There are times when we are called to take action by those who are driven by purpose. There is a charismatic energy that surrounds them that motivates many to follow their lead. We are easily fooled, when we want to believe that there are those who know better than us. It's easier to follow the path laid out for us than to create our own. Although the journey that has been described to us seems full of rewards, it is not our journey to take. If we listen closely to the spirit within us, it will guide us on the road that is right for us. Although it is unpaved, what we'll discover along the way will be worth our discomfort. It's time to take ownership of the life we were meant to have. Today, do something different. When you experience new things, opportunities arise. You are unique, so why shouldn't your path be the same.
If we take our time, we can see things we never saw before...

(Lately, I've been seeing a lot of motivational speakers on TV. They give inspirational speeches which seem to move their audience. Many seem to be transfixed at what is being said that they become overwhelmed with emotion. I was just thinking, if we put all these people together and they lived their life according to what these speakers are saying, then wouldn't the world be a better place. If only that were the way it was.)

A Positive Lifestyle

In theory, most of us would agree that having a positive lifestyle would be something to strive for. Living with no other thought than to have compassion, respect, and forgiveness for others; having positive thoughts, words, and actions everyday. How difficult would it be to live this way? To stop criticizing others for what we don't understand, to open our hearts without judgment, and to think before hurting others with our words. We are not perfect, but we can control our actions and words. It's time to stop pretending that we are not responsible for how we treat others. If we all commit to living with a positive lifestyle, think how we could directly impact the world. Today, go through the day with only positive words. See how people react to you and if your day is any different from any other. Know that you can make a difference in someone else's life besides your own.
A wall covered with gum makes a positive impact...

(Because everyone has a different perspective, I think their lifestyle would also be unique. What I do may not be what someone else does. But does it mean they are living with less intention to be positive? I think if people make a commitment, they will do the best they know how. It's times like this that makes me remember how unique everyone is and how we are only pieces that fit together, completing the universal puzzle.)

Breaking The Chains That Bind Us

There are so many reasons why we don't do the things we'd like to do. Whether they are real or not, it's what we think that matters. If we feel that there is something that is preventing us from moving on, then there is. Nothing we can do will change the way we feel. It's amazing how much power we have in our life and we don't even know it. It's not only fear that holds us back, but there is self-doubt and lack of motivation. Breaking the chains that bind us is much more difficult than we can imagine. It's easier to settle for less, then it is to pursue what we've envisioned. Only we know when it's time to move forward. To change our circumstance, to push ourselves with determination, and to commit to creating a life we've only dreamed about. We have everything within us to achieve our dreams, we only have to convince ourselves that the time is now. Today, don't let anything stop you from pursuing what you desire. Everything is aligned to support your wishes, just own what you want in life.
Let's spend the rest of the day together...

(When I'm feeling good, then everything seems to go my way. It's only when I'm down that my world implodes on me. There are times when I have to go through all my positive self talk just to see me through the day. But then when all is right with the world, then the impossible becomes possible. The way I look at it is, if I only had good days then when would I be able to sit on the couch all day and do nothing. Everything balances out in the end.)

Finding Our Way Home

There are times in life when we get lost and lose our focus. What was clear to us just awhile back, no longer makes sense. Although we feel the same, we are not who we were yesterday. Since our experiences makes us who we are, we may find that we are not who we thought we were any more. Going through so many changes in a lifetime, being around familiar things may bring us comfort. We might not be able to stop the changes in our life, but we certainly can have a say as to where we'd like to be. No matter where it is that we call home, it will be the right place for us. There is feeling of peace, when we find ourselves back where we started. Today, find comfort where you are. Sometimes when you look too hard for a place to call home, you miss the very place you need to be. Find your way home by using your heart as your guide and you will never get lost again.
It's peaceful staying at a beach house on the Oregon coast...

(I never really thought about home as a place to be, until I moved away. It's not the house itself that I miss, but the peaceful feeling I have when I'm back. I think when I created a retreat where my spirit was free to heal, that's when I truly found my way home. I may be living in Maui for now, but my heart waits to return to Kailua.)

Circle of GIving

There are times we want to thank people for the things they have done for us, but somehow we miss the opportunity because we get sidetracked. We tell ourselves that we always have tomorrow. When we acknowledge others and show appreciation, it is not only to thank the person, but to thank their giving spirit. Being filled with gratitude, there is an understanding that what we receive, must be reflected back to complete the circle of giving. The gift is only one side of the circle. The other half is our sending back loving energy to those who have shared with us. When the circle is complete, there is peace in our life. Today, witness the beauty that surrounds you. You are a part of a universal plan that connects you with loving spirits. Respect the circle that you are an important part of.
There are so many things to be grateful for, this is one of them...

(Being filled with gratitude is more than just thanking someone. It's a feeling that you get, deep within that impacts your life. It's knowing that someone has gone out of their way to make a difference in your life. I know in some cases, it will take me a life time to thank some of the people in my life. I will keep them near me, for they make me a better person than I was yesterday.)

Envision Your Dreams

There are times when we want to escape for awhile. We become caught up in the life that we've created. Our accomplishments have become a prison that we now feel bound to. It's difficult to escape something that we have worked so hard to achieve. We somehow have lost the zest for life and have become stagnant. It's at this time that we need to take a step back and re-evaluate where we are. The dreams we once envisioned have come to pass, but as we've grown so have our dreams. We sometimes forget that achieving our dreams doesn't mean that we stop moving forward. In fact, we all have the gift to envision what our potential is, if we open ourselves to our prophetic dreams. Today, find out where you want to be. If the life you've created doesn't fit anymore, then begin designing what you now envision. Visions are dreams that are waiting to come to fruition.
Walk with me...

(Life has a way of changing by itself, whether I want it to or not. The other evening, I remember saying "Release what I can not control". I had to say it a couple of time because I wanted to understand what I was saying. Sometimes we say things and it quickly gets lost. I wanted to remember that I truly have to release what I can not control or my life would be more chaotic. Change is the word for the year.)

Rise Up With The Sun

There may be days when it's difficult to get up in the morning, knowing what awaits us. Times when we're unable to resolve our conflicts and they spill over to the next day. When this happens over and over, days turn into months, months into years. What is our inspiration if nothing changes in our life? Even during the day, we find ourselves hiding in the dark so that the light no longer shines upon us. It doesn't take much to deny who we're supposed to be. But the day will come when the life we've created won't be good enough for us. Although it'll take courage, we will rise up with the sun and take back the life we deserve, with joy and peace in our heart. Today, believe that there are many prayers being said for you. Know that the strength you find in yourself comes from your faith, which is true and has no bounds.

Sugar cane burning in the distance...

(Although my life is not without conflict, compared to the struggles that are going on throughout the world, my life is quiet. I understand there are those that have to stand up to persecution in order to make what is right for others. My heart goes out to the innocent who have been swept away by political unrest. I wish that one day, they receive what their hearts desire. Peace for all.)

Fulfilling Our Heart's Desire

How can we fulfill our heart's desire, when we often times don't know what it is. We may search a lifetime for what we desire but never find it. Many of us, may feel that this is one time occurrence in our life and it should stand apart from the other things that we want. But what if our heart desires something quieter and softer. Something that is so familiar that we have taken it for granted. Being with us for awhile, we may have forgotten how important it is in our life. For some of us, it may take the form of a successful career. For others, it's being surrounded by loving friends and family. Know that whatever our heart desires, it is never further than what brings us happiness and joy to our life. Today, enjoy what life brings you and you will find that your heart will guide you to what you desire.
Sometimes our heart's desire is sitting right outside our door...

(I think our heart can desire more than one thing at a time. For it's a compassionate heart that desires peace for all, including ourselves. If that is true, than what I desire evolves depending what I am experiencing in the moment. It can be as complicated as I want it to be or as simple as being at peace with myself. It's not about fulfilling my heart's desire, but knowing that when my heart is content, my desires will be fulfilled.)

What Don't You Understand

There are days when no matter what people say to us, we have difficulty understanding them. As hard as we try, we can't make sense of what they are saying. It seems like it was just the other day, when we were insinc. It's as if the other person is now speaking a foreign language. The more we talk, the more confused we have become. It's at this time, we may need to take a break and reflect on what is being said. Listening without judgement may be the first step in understanding what people are trying to say to us. Today, just listen. Be open to hearing what others are saying before you respond. You'll be surprised at how much you can learn when you're quiet.
Sometimes no words are needed...

(Sometimes I don't understand what people are saying to me because their reality is not mine. But I have to remember that I don't have to understand their reality. Being compassionate to those I don't quite understand is challenging, but they deserve to pursue their dreams in their own way.

Knowing What Works

Learning ways to calm ourselves is important for our self healing. There are many techniques, but finding one that is right for us is the key.  When seeking a balance in our life, we unconsciously create a place of healing for ourselves. A peaceful environment always seems to help ease our minds. But what happens when our life turns upside down. Can we still find the calm we seek in the middle of the storm? Knowing what works for us can help us through the chaos. Taking what we've learned and re-create it in a toxic environment. If our foundation is strong, we can find balance even in times of hardship. Finding a sense of peace is only a breath away. Today, practice deep breathing. You will see how your heartbeat can calm your emotions. By regulating your breathing, you can de-escalate the craziness around you. Be the serenity, you seek.
Donuts make me smile...

(I found ways to relax when my life was structured and organized. But now that life is more chaotic, it's integrating what I've learned. I find that in between the drama, I can take deep breaths which balances me. The secret is knowing what works for me even when the world is imploding on me. Relaxation is only a state of mind.)

Living With Uncertainty

Everyone has a belief system that sees them through life. It's a knowing within us that whatever may go wrong, we have a backup plan that will  help us through these uncertain times. It may not be clear what the plan is, but knowing that we'll be okay is all the assurance we need to feel secure. As we go through the year, there may be times when we question what is happening around us. Although we may never know the answers to these questions, we are able to move on because of what we believe in. As unique as we all are, so is what we believe to be true. Know that living with uncertainty binds us from moving forward. So if we are strong in committing to our beliefs, they will see us through these times of turmoil, fear, and frustration. Today, know that you are much stronger than you think. There are times when you must stand up for what you believe in, but use discernment when communicating your thoughts. You can be fearless in your ideals, but compassionate towards those who do not understand what you stand for. Find balance in your passion and the world will hear your voice much more clearly.
Find peace within yourself...

(To have someone believe in you is one of the nicest gifts they can give to you because it's given from the heart. I found there are many people that I believe in. Not for what they do, but who they are. I believe in their generous and caring spirit. My belief is that everyone has a purpose in life, it just takes a lifetime to discover what it may be. But in the meantime, there is a reason why we connect with these loving spirit and I feel fortunate to have met many of them.)

When Life Gets In The Way

Sometimes no matter how much we try, we just can't seem to balance our life. We are told that in order to live a healthy life we should try to achieve balance in the things we do. To prioritize what is important to us and to ensure that we make time for ourselves. It seems easy enough, but then we become busy at work or we have a family crisis. There never seems to be a time when everything is insinc. Is it that we should be balancing what we have or develop the skills to balance the unexpected? For when we create peace in our life, it's actually only for that moment. Our priorities evolve as quickly as we make them. Instead of committing to balancing our life, we should be living our life with the committment to let life get in the way and to enjoy every minute of it. Today, just enjoy yourself. Leave the balancing up to those who enjoy the chaos. Be where you need to be.
No worries, just play...

(Sometimes when things get too overwhelming, just doing something relaxing gets my mind off what is bothering me. It's just recently that I've been okay with not balancing my life. I think getting myself into a space where I can make sense of the nonsense, makes me feel better. I know that this works different for everyone. So I wish for you all, a place where you feel whatever you want to feel.)
