The Passing Of Time

It's a time to celebrate the passing of another year. Let us appreciate what this year has taught us and know that the coming year will bring us new experiences and exciting opportunities. For some of us,this year brought life changing events and unhappy moments, but we have become who we are today because of this. For others, there were times that filled our hearts with so much joy and happiness. Every year is an opportunity to make the most out of our life. Today, celebrate the year's passing the best way you know how. What a wonderful time for you to be who you were meant to be. Remember that you are special and unique and deserve everything that your heart's desire.

What a beautiful way to end the year...

(My family and I are spending New Year's Eve at the Waikiki Sheraton. We are breaking out of a life long tradition of staying home and eating mochi, but sometimes we need to go with the flow. Acknowledging my mixed feelings of missing old tradition, the universe gave me a wonderful sunset to make me realize that being with family is the most important tradition of all.
S, B, and Q - I miss you all so much at this moment. I hope you are enjoying a Happy New Year's Eve.)

With A Little Help

Sometimes when we least expect it, we are given the help we need to move us along our way. Although for the most part we are able to go through life quite easily, there are times when it becomes a little more difficult to maneuver. For whatever the reasons may be, we find ourselves caught up in our emotions. It's at that moment when time seems to have somehow slowed down, that we meet someone who lifts our spirits up. When our spirit is able to see beyond our grief, it is then time for us to change the direction of the path we so easily defaulted to. With the help of our loved ones and those we meet unexpectedly, we can again move forward with a clearer mind and the best of intentions. Today, be open to what the future holds for you. It may be unclear to you at this time, but know that the universe continues to flow through you giving you the inner strength that you need to heal. Remember that there is a time for everything and now is the time to care for yourself.

It takes so little to make us smile...

(F,K,&L - Thank you so much for giving me
the opportunity to share Angel's memories with you.
It always surprises me that as unique as we all are,
how similar our paths may be. Life is about helping each other
get though the difficult times and being there
to celebrate as our hearts begin to heal.
I wish your family a gentle and loving New Year!)

Life Reflections

As the year comes to a close, it’s a good time to stop and take a look at the life we’ve created. What better time than now to do some self reflection and pose questions that make us think about who we have become. Is our life what we envisioned for ourselves? Life moves so quickly that sometimes we are so busy trying to survive that we often times settle for what we get instead of pursuing what we want. Has our actions this past year, demonstrated the type of person we’d like to be remembered as? Instead of being conscious of how we treat people, we may make up excuses for being rude and demanding to those we love. Are the people whose opinions we listen to, respectful and caring of us or do they have their best interests in mind? Sometimes we try so hard to make others happy that we compromise our own beliefs and happiness. Know that in the coming year, we can create the life we’ve dreamed about by committing to be more kind and thoughtful to ourselves. Today, take a moment to reflect upon the past year. What changes do you need to make in order to live a life that truly reflects who you are? Create your own unique path instead of living in fear and following a life that others feel more comfortable in seeing you live. Be the trendsetter that you are meant to be, instead of continuing to follow the demands of others.

Our life is as unpredictable as the ocean...

Capturing Our Favorite Memories

When life doesn't go exactly the way we want it to, we can make ourselves feel a little better if we are able to recall a favorite memory. Depending how good we are at remembering things, our senses can sweep us away to a time when we indulged ourselves without a care. Our imagination can only enhance our memories so they become part of our reality. Know that our favorite memories are only a thought away. They are valuable in balancing our stressful life. Today, capture one of your favorite memories. Remember when you were carefree and had no thoughts of what tomorrow will bring. Allow your spirit to fly.

Sitting on the beach has now become
one of my favorite memories...

(S & B - I know you can't believe this,
but I went to the beach today and stayed there for about 2 hours.
The first hour was taking pictures of the tide pools.
The second was eating snacks and watching a wedding happening next to us.
It was a little overcast, so no one got burned.
We missed you both.)

Finding Peace Within Yourself

Sometimes when our life is in turmoil, we may turn to whatever and whomever we feel will help us find peace. Because our world has turned upside down, we have difficulty believing that we have the answers within us. It is easier to place responsibility onto others when we are so overwhelmed. But no matter who or what we turn to for help, there is no easy fix. If the answers we receive don't resonant with us, we continue searching and listening to others as they try to convince us that they have what we need. Know that we are all unique and everyone's path to finding peace is different. Today, think of all that is troubling you. Pretend that you are speaking to a loved one, how would you help them to resolve these problems. Listen carefully to your responses. You have the answers, but you need to overcome the fears that prevent you from resolving them. Peace is within your reach, if you let your inner spirit lead the way.

  How peaceful is our expression...

(I found this peaceful Buddha at the Lavender Farm in Kula.
It was sitting on the side of the path amongst the lavender bushes.
I guess I would be at peace too if I was amongst the fragrant flowers.
I will remember this moment whenever I become stressed.)

Rebalancing Our Lives

Now that things have settled down a little, we have an opportunity to rebalance our life. We seem to have slowed down considerably from the last few days of rushing around. Now that the festivities have quieted down, we can use this time to begin preparing for the upcoming year. Reflecting not only on our unmet goals, but dreams that now may seem a little vague. It is time to create the life that we've envisioned during the coming new year. Today, see how quiet you can be. Listen to others, rather than speak about yourself. Be open to what comes to you, rather than scheduling every minute of your day. Be compassionate to those who you have difficulty understanding. Within the quiet, the universe will open up and bring you new perspective.

With beautiful sunrises like these, it's easy to greet each day with optimism...

(Pike's Market in Seattle is one of my favorite places to spend the day. If we don't make an effort to do the things that are important to us, life will pass us by without us noticing.)

Merry ChristmasTo All

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. This is a time to celebrate with family and friends or spend a quiet day pampering yourself. This holiday season is about acknowledging and respecting our traditions but also knowing that there may be times when we need to create new ones, especially when we have new members joining our family. It's about intergrating new cultures with our own and celebrating the differences. That's what so wonderful about life, it's always changing. For some of us change is difficult, but know that with it comes wonderful opportunities and unexpected experiences. This Christmas, open your heart to whatever should appear before you. This is a time for miracles.

Who would think a crab would be the perfect ornament...

(When visiting the Whale Foundation in Lahaina,
I saw this tree decorated with all kinds of sea creatures.
It was different, but I loved it.
I didn't see one round ornament on the whole tree.)

Happy Holidays

The holiday season is about spreading joy amongst the people we meet. We often times get caught up with last minute shopping and running around, but at the end of the day all that matters is being with the people we love and care about. All the presents are nice to have, but it's the special moments that we share with each other that makes us feel warm inside. Take time to appreciate everyone that you'll be celebrating with and those who are far away. Today, remember the people you love and celebrate this festive time with them. Let your spirit fly free and open your heart to the love you'll be receiving.

Christmas lights always makes things look beautiful...

(This is the first time I saw the neighbor's yard all lite up.
In the day it looks kind of crazy with all the different animals,
Christmas trees, and Santa Claus, but somehow at night
with all the lights everything seemed to be perfect together.
I guess our neighbor has more fore sight than I have.
I'm just going to enjoy it.)

Being At Peace

It's funny how much more clearer we can think when we are at peace within ourselves. It's those special times when everything is right with the world that we allow ourselves to relax. In that moment, we move beyond our fears and realize the dreams that we've kept hidden. Attaining peace within our life takes a committment and concentrated effort on our part. But know that you will reap the rewards when you have achieved the ability to live a life you were meant to have. Today, be at peace within yourself and let your spirit lead you on your path. Let no one lead you astray from doing what you feel is right in your heart. Believe that you can achieve anything you want, if you have peace within you.

When the tree is finally decorated, there is peace in the air...

(It's not difficult to decorate a three foot tree, but trying to place the green and red ornaments gets pretty tricky. It's like you end up with a bunch of the same colors in the same area no matter how hard you try to separate them. That's when peace ends and frustration begins.)

Listening To Your Body

It's a frustrating feeling when we have so much to do and our body decides that it wants to just sit and watch life go by. It fails to understand how important it is for us to keep moving. We have deadlines to meet, friends and family to entertain, and last minute shopping to do. Our body doesn't seem to care that now is not a good time to fall apart and the worse part is that it's trying to convince our mind to join in the rebellion. As much as we push ourselves to keep up with the holiday rush, our body and mind can over ride our best intentions. So why are we ignoring what is happening. It may be that we are so caught up with what is expected of us that we are going through the holidays like drones. Doing what we do every year just because. This year if we listen to our mind, body, and spirit, we may be surprised at what awaits us. Today, enjoy the holiday season the way you want to experience it. Don't do what is expected of you but do what brings you joy. Let your mind, body, and spirit lead you to new and special holiday experiences.

Take a moment to enjoy the things that make this season so special...

(More animals have popped up in the neighbor's yard in the past few weeks. I think there must have been a sale at Walmart. I haven't seen them with the lights but I'm sure they are beautiful. More the merrier.)

It's About Timing

Sometimes it seems no matter how much we want things to happen, they just don't. Although we try to do everything we possible can to move things along, there comes a point where it seems as if we're just spinning our wheels. There seems to be nothing we can do, but wait patiently. It's as if the universe has it's own clock which runs much differently than our own. If this is true, then it would make sense that there are certain things in life that we need to let go of the controls because it may not happen within our own timeframe. Today, enjoy the day as it unfolds. Be patient, knowing that all will come to you in time. It's not about how quickly you attain what you desire, but that you appreciate the moments working towards achieving them.

Some things are worth waiting for...

(How long does bananas take to ripen? It seems as if I've been waiting forever for these to turn yellow. They look like their going to taste good.)

Living Life Hoping For The Best

We often times hear people say that someone they know has such bad luck. In hearing this, it's easy to visualize a black cloud hovering over these selected few. If this were the case, shouldn't we be living life just hoping for the best? We give ourselves too much credit in thinking that the ills of the world occurs because of us. It's true that sometimes we go through more trying times than others but this is a natural part of life. We are not being singled out more than others. It's not the number of things that can go wrong, but how we respond to these situation. Life is about learning and growing through our experiences. Granted some are worse than others, but we are who we are today because of the path we have chosen to walk. Today, celebrate your life. Athough you may question why you have to go through trying times, just know that you are becoming who you are meant to be. Your challenges will be your gift in helping others through their time of need.
We each have unique paths to walk.
Enjoy the path that you have chosen to walk...

(On a good day, I can understand this concept. But when things are falling down all around me and I'm losing control of my life, it makes me feel better to think that the universe is against me. It's a pity party for one.)

Capturing The Holiday Spirit

Soon after this season ends, it seems as if we not only pack up the festive lights and decorations but our holiday spirit as well. For some of us, this time of year provides us with the perfect excuse to share from our hearts. In fact, this may be our favorite time of year because things that seem impossible to achieve now seem attainable. It's a time when dreams and wishes may come true. We look forward to celebrating with our friends and family who we may not have seen for awhile. Know that even when this season ends, we can capture the holiday spirit and carry it's loving essence within us throughout the year. Today, remember everything about this season that brings you joy. So that during the year when you're feeling stressed, you can remember the warm feelings that this season brings. The holiday spirit isn't something that comes around once a year, but it's a reflection of the spirit that lies within each of us every day.
The holiday spirit is around us all year, if we just keep our eyes open...

(I've noticed there are so many things in nature that reflect the holiday season colors. The lights and decorations make me happy, but seeing the holidays reflected in nature is also very heart warming.)

Acknowledging The People In Our Lives

This week will be an exceptional busy time for most of us. It's a time to thank the special people in our lives who have supported us during the year. The holiday season gives us the opportunity to let them know how much we appreciate them. Today, focus your attention on the people who have made an impact in your life. Let them know that they have made a difference during the past year. Complete the circle by giving back a little of what you have received. The universal energy flows gently through us all during this time of year.

Even when someone we love is gone, we can appreciate how they impacted our lives when they were with us...

(It's so strange to celebrate the holidays without Roxie (our Boston).
She had a major place in our hearts and is missed during this time of year.)

Keeping Our Balance

No matter how confident we feel about ourselves, there are times when we feel less assured. It's unnerving to know that even when trying to keep our life balanced, there are triggers from the past that can easily strip us of our confidence. We may not react in the same way as we did before, but none the less they do affect us. We may always respond without thinking, but knowing that we are able to move on from a place of insecurity, demonstrates that we are healing. Know that it's okay not to be balanced all the time and that we have the courage to face our fears. Today, think about the things or people who negatively influence your life. It's so easy to use them as an excuse for things that go wrong in life. It's time to take responsibility of your life and acknowledge that only you have the power to overcome your insecurities. Life is a wonderful place to be when you believe in the power of your inner spirit.

Every day brings us an opportunity to live a life we've dreamt of...

(Isn't this a beautiful sunrise.
No matter where we are in the world,
we are still able to look up and see a miracle happening every day.)

Feeling Blue

There are times when we feel stuck and can't seem to find our way out of our blue mood. It's not that things aren't going so well, it's just a "I'm off centered" moment. Because we're not feeling our usual self and are easily overwhelmed and emotional, it may be difficult for us to view things objectively. Knowing that we are not feeling the well, it would be best to be more thoughtful and reflective during this busy time. Being in a blue mood, gives us an opportunity to stop and take care of ourselves. Today, take a moment from your busy schedule to do something nice for yourself. Know that although the world around you is moving at a fast pace, you can still create the peace and serenity that you seek. Appreciate and celebrate where you are in this moment.

Walking on the beach helps to clear my mind...

(Although I appreciate the quiet time I've been having, it's wonderful to have my girls back home for the holidays. The house is messy and it's noisy again. I love it!)

Letting Go Of Our Bad Habits

What better time then now to let go of the habits that aren't working for us anymore? We are so used to going back to doing things that make us feel comfortable. Not that they are good for us but we've done them for so long that we react with our eyes closed. Why are we then surprised when we end up with the same negative outcome. We may even go over our experience wondering where did we go wrong. But when we are put in the same situation, we are determined to have history repeat itself. If it wasn't so sad, it would be very funny. But since this is happening to us, not someone else, we really need to work on moving forward. Know that there is a time and place for our habits, but when they begin to hurt us and others, we need to take a closer look at them and create new ones. Our lives have changed over the years and we are at a different place then we used to be. If we are determined to cling to the past, our future will move on without us. Today, if life is moving too quickly for you, slow down and take a deep breath. Live the life that you choose to live, don't be a victim of circumstances. We are all interconnected, so be loving and kind to yourself and others. This is a time for creating new traditions and habits that truly reflect who you are at this moment.
I think it's time to throw away last year's tree...

(Just like this Xmas tree, we sometimes hold on to things a little bit too long. When our habits begin to hurt ourselves and others,
we need to re-evaluate how well they are working.
Let's end the year with positive beginnings.)

No One Said It Would Be Easy

No one said it would be easy, but they didn't say how difficult it could be either. Being in a relationship, we never realize the things we have committed to until the other person reminds us what is missing. And even then, there is confusion. This occurs because we are all unique, coming from different past experiences, cultures, and personal fears. Communication helps, but it doesn't mean that everything will be perfect. We will just hear what the other person wants to share. Even to say that we truly understand their perspective may be pushing it, but at least we will know where they are coming from. Being in a relationship, doesn't mean losing yourself to the other person. It means working harder to keep your own identity while valuing what your loved one brings into your life. Today, stop running away for once. It has never worked in the past and won't work right now. Where ever you go, your fears are never far behind. Don't lose something precious because you're too tired, stressed, or self absorbed. One day when you run out of excuses, there won't be anyone there to care what you are saying. Let others love you as you deserve to be loved.
Let's walk on the beach together...

(As nice as it is to get quiet time alone,
it also feels good to be with the one you love.
We sometimes get caught up with how things should be,
that we miss how special things are right now.
You don't know what you've lost until you don't have it anymore.)

Doing Good Deeds

At what point do we take the time from our busy schedules to do a good deed? We hear about "Paying It Forward", when a stranger does something nice without being asked, then the recipient continues the cycle of generosity. But why do we need to wait until someone has to remind us to think of others besides ourselves. Instead of "Paying It Forward", we could live a life of "Daily Compassion". It's not the big things that count, but being thoughtful about the plight of those who are in need. We are all angels in our own way, sent to help others. We are always being given assignments, if we would just be more aware of the universal messages that are sent to us. Today, do something for someone. Don't think too hard. Actions speak louder than words. Reflect upon how it feels to be compassionate. If you let your inner spirit lead you, just imagine the places you could go. It's time to let the universal energy flow through you.

Like lifeguards, we need to keep an eye on who may need our help...

(Doing something good for people gets to be a habit if we let it.
When it does, we don't think about being nice or compassionate,
it just seems like the right thing to do.
I'm not sure if it makes me feel better,
all I know is that I am compelled to do it.)

Celebrating Our Differences

We are all unique in our own way. It's time to celebrate who we are, instead of getting stuck on our differences. By embracing what others bring to our life, we open ourselves to new opportunities and experiences. Know that we are all connected to each other in some way and that there is a reason beyond what can we understand why we cross paths with certain people. Today, be aware of the people you meet. Remember that we may not know why they are in our life, but there is a purpose for everything. Whether it is a one time occasion or for our lifetime treat all with compassion and respect.

Although we may look alike, we are truly different...

(I don't see the difference, but I'm sure they are unique.
I guess a bird lover would know.)

Gathering Our Thoughts

When life gets busy this holiday season, it helps to take a moment to gather our thoughts. From the time we awake until we go to bed, it seems as if every minute is taken. At work, we are rushing to meet deadlines and on the weekend, we are making our way through the endless crowds. Although it may be invigorating for some, for most of us it can be a little overwhelming. That's when slowing down and spending a quiet moment to gather our thoughts may be one of the best things we can do. Everything can wait while we rebalance ourselves. Today, enjoy the holiday season in your own way. Celebrate your traditions and create new memories.  Have a wonderful, warm and fuzzy day.

Everyone celebrates the holidays in their own way...

(Our neighbor has an explosion of holiday figures in the yard and on the roof.
I love to see people really get into the holiday spirit.
Everyone is invited to the block party.)

Being There

Sometimes it seems that no matter what we say, we are misunderstood. It's confusing when others get angry or hurt at what we say because that wasn't our intent. In fact, we may take apart our conversation just to see what went wrong. We want to show our support and express how much we care, but we are told "You don't understand". At that point, it may be for the best that we stop talking. Know that it is not about us telling others what we think they should do, but having the ability to just sit quietly and listen as they work out their problems in their own way. Today, listen. You may learn more about people when you give them a chance to talk. One of the greatest gifts you can offer another person is your willingness to just "Being There".

Hey, be careful you're too close to the water...

(This mother duck had so many duckies that one kept running away from her. She finally gave up and let him swim on his own.
I guess she knew better because he never went too far away.)

Celebrating Our Emotions

There is always a time and place for our emotions, for they are a true reflection of what is going at that moment. Some of us get so good at hiding our feelings, that we often times wonder why we feel so numb. Through practice, we've learned to ignore our initial reactions because they are sometimes primal. Some of our feelings are so deep and strong that they unbalance us for awhile. Emotions are important because they represent our initial reactions which reflect how we genuinely feel. They are our first indicators of whether things are going well or not. Our emotions reflect who we are. Today, be aware of how you are feeling. Are your emotions a reflection of where you'd like to be? Take the time to be in the moment and celebrate your emotions for they help you balance your life.

How are you feeling today...

(S & B - Although you are both are so goofy, you never fail at making me smile. On a rainy, gray day like today, it feels good to laugh.)

Standing Up For What We Believe In

Sometimes it's easier to follow others when we're not quite sure of our own beliefs. We let ourselves be carried away by the growing fevor and join in with enthusiasm. There is something within us that searches for a sense of belonging. But before we continue on this path, consider stepping away from the faceless crowds and taking a moment to be quiet within ourselves. We may not know exactly what we believe in at this time, but we do know what we don't believe in. Remember when taking a stand, you lead with true intentions not follow the will of others. Today, think with reason, not with emotion. Create a life that you have envisioned for yourself. Do not feel obligated to follow the path of others, for it may lead you astray. Although we may believe in the same issues, we may not go about making changes the same way. Do what feels right for you and not what others tell you to do. Let your inner spirit lead you on your journey.

Sometimes we need to wait for the right moment to ride the perfect wave...

(For those who are standing up for what they believe in,
I wish you strength in pursuing your vision,
purpose in knowing that you are doing what you feel is right,
and compassion for others who believe differently than yourself.
May the universe keep you safe.)

Releasing Our Control

It gets a little frustrating when we feel we are losing control of our life. We try to organize what we can so there won't be any surprises or mishaps. But just when we think that everything is going well, we find that something goes awry. That's when we begin to doubt ourselves and question our every action. How can we ensure that everything runs smoothly? We can't. No one expects us to be perfect, but ourselves. We are harder on ourselves than anyone else. Sometimes we have to give up our well laid out plans to the universe. Know that when we release control, our true destiny becomes much more clearer and our path much more easier to follow. Today, believe in yourself. Ask the the universe for help in guiding you to make the right decisions and supporting you in learning to care for yourself in a compassionate and loving way. By allowing yourself to relax, you open yourself to new experiences and opportunities.

It's not easy letting others lead, but when we do
we sometimes go further than we ever expected...

The Power Of Our Words

There are times when we use hurtful words to cover the pain that lies deep within us. We keep our eyes closed because we don't want to see how much we affect others by what we say. We ignore the heartache our actions cause, when habit has us striking out hoping to ease the anger and frustration. We have become so used to reacting this way, that it would surprise us if one day our loved ones decided to walk away instead of accepting our bad behaviors as they normally would do. Know that every action we take, has its own consequence. Remember that the compassionate universe finds a way to balancing us all.Today, use your words wisely. Treat your loved ones with care for they were sent to support, nurture, and love you. It is not your destiny to hurt others, so release your fears and stop fighting who you are truly meant to be.

There are places where peace and serenity still truly exist...

(Sometimes I have to remind myself that
I deserve to be treated in a loving way.
It's a sad day when I have to tell myself
something that I should already believe in.)

Changing Our Karma

Is it possible that our lives are intertwined with our family's past karma? How else can we explain the misfortune that has overshadowed some of our families for generations? It would seem as if some of us have not felt the universe’s compassionate light for awhile. For the most part, many have accepted their fate, already defeated by what seems to be repeating in this lifetime. Then there are those who are determined to break the cycle of misfortune. For these courageous few, know that it is possible to change the future. The first step is to acknowledge the past, then release the binds that keep our family hostage. The universe gives us all opportunities to change our future and live a life with purpose. Today, release your family's karma to the universe.  Take a deep breath and say,"I no longer claim my family's misfortune. I am here to live a life with purpose to help others. I am moving forward from this day on." Let the universe's energy flow through you bringing you a new beginning in the coming year.
Just like the trees, there are seasons in our lives...
(D- thank you for the fall pictues. I really miss the changing of the seasons.)

Taking The Time To Reflect

As busy as we are, it's important that we take the time to reflect upon the life we are living. When we get caught up in our day to day routine, a daily reflection may seem too difficult to commit to and easy to forget about. The excuses we tell ourselves become more believable as time goes by. It is not until our life begins to unravel that we stop to question the path we have chosen to follow. It is easier to lead a life that is proactive then to wait until there is a crisis in our midst. Today, check in with yourself. Is the life you are living a reflection of who you are? If not, what changes would you need to make in order to live a life you were meant to live? Take a moment to reflect upon these questions so that you may know more about yourself than you did the day before. The act of reflecting is a gift that only we can give to ourselves.

Living Your Dreams

Sometimes our dreams take us places to where only our spirit has been. When we dream there are no boundaries to keep us from achieving and attaining what we believe to be out of reach. When we dream, we are safe to create our heart's desire and all is possible. What if dreams can come true? How different would our life be? Today, think about one of the dreams you've had in the past, where you woke up feeling pure joy and at peace with the world. Know it is not important if your dreams come true or not, but that the same joyful feeling that you've felt within your heart lingers long after you've awaken. You deserve to live a life as wonderful as the dreams you've created.

Sometimes we find that we can live our dreams...

(For just a moment, everything seemed so perfect.
The sun, the ocean, and no place I have to be.
Let me be, for just awhile longer.)

Celebrating Our Differences

We are all so different in many ways. Each of us reflecting who we are by by what we say and do. We are unique in our own special way. So what is the problem? The challenge is in accepting each other's differences. It would be a sad day if we were all alike, for if we were, the world would be quite a boring place. By interacting with others who are different from us, we learn to be not only more adaptable but accepting of situations that make us uncomfortable. Instead of getting angry and frustated with others who are so different from us, we need to be open to what we can learn from our experiences. Today, appreciate the differences between yourself and others. Be aware of your initial reactions to those who you don't understand and respond negatively to. These people are the very ones you are going to learn the most from. Celebrate the differences that exist between us all, for that is the very thing that makes our life so interesting.

We all see beauty so differently...

(This is a beautiful tiled scene on the side of a public park bathroom. It's made of ceramic pieces and glass, so it shines all the time in the sun. It's really amazing. I'm not sure if anyone appreciates it beside me.)

You Are Not Alone

It's funny how sometimes we can feel alone yet be amongst so many people. During the holiday season, everyone moves so quickly that they become very insular. Each minding their own business, not bothering to look up to see if anyone needs their help. Although there may be thousands or millions of people where we live, we are still alone. Alone in our thoughts. Alone in our worries. Just alone. Our feelings are somewhat amplified the more we see everyone getting ready for the holidays. There is a feeling of being disconnected. When this happens remember that there is a time for everything, even a time to be alone. Know that where ever we may be, the people who love us and support us are waiting nearby to comfort us. Today, let it be a quiet day. If you are feeling alone, use this time to be in the moment. Care for yourself as if you were a child that needs a mother's love. Be nurturing and be supportive to your needs. Although you are feeling alone, remember that you are a child of the universe and are never truly alone.

Sometimes I do feel alone...

(Do not worry. This dog was waiting for it's master to finish swimming. It was so good. It just stood waiting in the water.)
