Asking For Help

Think how much more farther you can succeed with the help of others. Many of you pride yourself upon being independent, but at what cost. Doing things on your own has brought you a sense of pride. You have grown used to counting only on yourself to resolve whatever problem you encounter. Although you have friends and loved ones, who would help you if asked, you often times go through so much more than you have to because don't want to burden others. That is one perspective, another would be, by allowing others to help you, you bring them the gift of learning how to give to others. This gift is precious because without anyone asking your help how would you learn to be more compassionate. There are times when independence is a good trait to have, but you do not always have to stand alone. There is no weakness in asking for help, there is only knowing who you are and what you are capable of. By asking for help, you are helping others in their journey. Today learn to lean on others. Within the day, ask someone for help and acknowledge their efforts. You will see how this small action can change someone's outlook. By sharing your burden with others your load lessens and you can move on journey effortlessly.
Cooking together is fun, especially making a new recipe...

(Cooking with people who don't usually cook is really fun, if you aren't a stickler for the way things turn out. I figure as long as you're not baking, how can things go wrong. I had a blast assigning dishes to people that didn't know how to cut vegetables or cook rice. Everything turned out really delicious and everyone had fun. When people work together, anything is possible. Leaving ego out the door, we can do so much.
