Cleansing Ourselves

Every day many of us cleanse ourselves by taking a bath. It's a daily activity that has become so routine that we don't think twice about it. There are those that spend less than five minutes, others may take the opportunity to make this their special time. Basically, we bathe because of personal hygiene. To rid ourselves of the dirt that may accumulate on us during the day. Just think how we would feel if we didn't bath. Overtime this would become very uncomfortable. If bathing is so important to us, why aren't we cleansing our minds and spirit as well. We come across toxic people every day that leave their imprint on us even after they've gone. There is debris from the past that still cling to us that affect how we interact with others. Cleansing our minds and spirit is as important as our daily bathing so that we can live our lives refreshed every day. Today, take a moment to visualize how you can begin cleansing not only your body, but your mind and spirit. Do what feels right for you.

Sometimes we need to make due when places like these aren't available...

Different Perspectives

In life, we often times hear the saying "Treat others as you would wish to be treated". This seems easy enough to understand, but what if you grew up not being treated well and the only signs of love was through abuse. Then this saying as well as the others which we set our standards of behavior become distorted. As we go through life, we take it for granted that everyone comes with the best intentions or at least is not intentially out to harm us. In fact, we are surprised and sometimes react in anger when we are not treated well because as far as we know we have done nothing to bring on the negative behavior. We have control only of our own words and actions, so be mindful when placing judgement on others. Today, listen carefully. By taking the time to truly listen to others, we learn more about ourselves and of others.

Everyone sees the beauty in nature differently...

Living A Joyful Life

Sometimes it is easier said than done to keep our committment to nurture ourselves, to set aside time to reflect upon our lives, and to take the initiative to help those in need. We have the best intentions, but somehow life gets in the way and we get caught up in our daily routines. We remind ourselves over and over again what we should be doing and feel bad that we're gotten off track again. If what we should be doing is so good for us, why is it so difficult to follow through? We create such high standards that it would be difficult for anyone including ourselves to meet these expectations. The universe is compassionate and forgiving, as we should be of ourselves. Today, put aside your strict standards and take a break. Do something that fills your heart with joy. Living a joyful life is sometimes the first step in caring for yourself and others.

Spending time with family and friends give me the greatest joy...

Facing Life's Challenges

In life, we are often faced with challenging situations. At times, they seem unsurmountable and we become overwhelmed, frozen by our emotions. On other days, we take on challenges, as if they are just stepping stones leading us towards our goals. Why is there such a difference in how we react? Our responses are often times guided by our mind, body, and spirit. So if we are mentally, physically, or spiritually exhausted, then we are not able to successfully overcome life's challenges. Today, take the time to care for yourself. Do something special to nurture your mind, body, and spirit, so you can meet life's challenges with positive results.

As shaky as it looks, I know I'll get a better view if I climb higher...

Choosing To Live Toxic Free

Sometimes in life, we meet people that come with negative energy. We're not sure what it is, but after interacting with them we leave feeling emotionally, psychologically, or physically drained. Some of these people we've had little to no interaction with in the past, others are people we've known for awhile. Everyone has energy whether it's positive or negative, it depends on the person. So when coming in contact with someone with negative energy, we react instinctively.  Depending on how sensitive we are to toxic energy, our reaction may vary based on the length of time and type of contact.  Sometimes we may not be able to avoid negative people all together because we either work with them or they are part of our family and group of friends. When this occurs, we can limit the interaction to a minimum and prepare ourselves mentally prior to meeting them. Today, let your inner spirit identify those people who carry negative energy and may do you harm. Be cautious of the people you bring into your life because you deserve to live your life surrounded by only those who truly love and care about you.

There are still places in the world that are surrounded by positive energy...

Reflecting Your True Spirit

The only thing in life we may know for sure is who we are and even then we have doubts. It's challenging enough to understand ourselves and why we do the things we do, then it is for us to comprehend the actions of others. Communication is sometimes difficult when we try to make sense of each other when coming from our own perspectives. Disagreements and conflict come out of hurt feelings when misunderstanding occurs. Most times, this was not the intention of the other person. Understanding others begins with learning more about ourselves. Today, choose your words, thoughts and actions with positive regard for others. Our lives flow much more gently when we reflect our true loving spirit.

What I see as beautiful others may not, but that's okay...

Realigning Yourself

Sometimes the most difficult time is not when we are questioning what to do with our lives, but are we doing what we are destined to do. For many of us, we plan our lives as carefully as possible. Even those of us, whose lives seem to be put together by chance. Our careers, friends, and leisure time are all part of who and what we have chosen. But still there are doubts within us that question whether we have made the right decisions especially when we are tired or things are not going as smoothly as we'd like it to be.  Living life and making decisions are part of our journey. If you feel as if things are not working well for you, it is not always the universe that is out of sinc. It may be that you have just hit a rough spot on your path. Today, take a short moment to reassess your life. Does your spirit feel at ease? If not make little adjustments to realign yourself so that you flow with the universe, not against it.

Water flows easily even in the most roughest of places...
