Think how often you give advice to your family and friends. You quickly assess the situation and know exactly what you would do. But being who you are you probably wouldn’t be in that position. When giving advice to others you think about how you would respond, but you’re forgetting about the person you are trying to help. If you were to really listen to their story, you would realize that they are not you. You are both so different, yet you are advising them to do something that may work for you but probably wouldn’t work for them. There are no fears when you are not emotionally involved. So the next time you are ready to give advice, step back and just listen. For all that is needed is your love and compassion.
What is this…
