It is important that you live for the present because when you hold on to the past or live anticipating the future, you miss what you're supposed to be learning at this time. There are many lessons that we need to learn during our lifetime and you are often times heard to say, "Didn't I learn this already?" In fact, you may have, but you were so busy worrying about other things that what you thought you learned didn't have much impact in your life. You are still making the same mistakes over and over again. There are many things that will distract you, but if you make a concentrated effort to keep your mind on what you are working on at the present time, you can achieve so much more. The universe does not give you much to learn. For the most part, it is to improve your state of being and to use your knowledge to help others on their journey during difficult times. But being in a selfish mind set, you won't see how others may be hurting and suffering. Life is definately all about you or so you may see it that way. How many lifetimes will it take to learn so little. Make the most of your life and you will accomplish much.
Things of the past are now part of our present...
(It's difficult for me to stay in the present. As a person who likes to control and organize my present, I'm always thinking in the future. Preparing takes planning and planning takes me away from the present. I need to really work on this.)
