Although we are unique individuals, we are all the same. No one better or worse than the other. We are all teachers, as well as, students of life. We may do things and react differently to similar situations, but we are basically here to experience life. There are those that we treat with more respect than others because of their higher status in our society, but know that they too have their weaknesses, along side their strengths, like we all do. Having compassion for everyone may be difficult without the understanding that we are basically all the same. Whatever our lessons are, we are here journeying together. Today, know that you are on equal standing with everyone. Be confident that you have a reason to be here and your presence is important in the lives of others who you have touched and will touch in the future. Know that you are where you are supposed to be.
When we appreciate the music, there is no room for judgement...
(Someone told me the other day, "Why don't you practice what you tell others to do?" I didn't take it as insulting because it wasn't meant that way. She actually wanted to know why sometimes I do things that seem to conflict with my writing. I responded that my writing is for everyone including myself and it's not about "practicing" but integrating a compassionate lifestyle within our own life which is a lifetime effort. We all know what we need to do in order to live a balanced life, but sometimes we need reminding. I write to not only remind others, but make a committment to myself to always try to do better. I understand that we are all here to help each other.
