When we talk about taking care of ourselves, we are usually referring to our physical health. Although nurturing our mind and spirit is equally as important, it seems as if we concentrate more on what we can immediately attend to. As easy as it may seem, it is challenging to change bad habits in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We understand that eating the right foods and exercising is the right thing to do, but making a life committment seems almost impossible. We are very enthusiastic when we first begin, but as time goes on we revert back to our bad habits of eating without limits and not exercising. Know that you are not alone on your journey, there are so many of us that are walking this walk in order to live a longer and healthier life. This week, be aware of what you are eating and how much activity you are getting. Then start with baby steps in changing your daily routine. When you begin caring yourself, you are able to care for others.
I was going to go on a 5 mile ride today, but I lost the key for my bike lock.
So I guess I'll go tomorrow...
