For many of us, we have become so dependant on using technology to communicate with others that it would be incomprehensible not to have daily access. But in bringing these tools into our lives, we are losing the fine art of conversation. We have bought into the marketing hype with the excuse that this is the wave of the future, making communicating with others easier and more convienent. But what have we done, except make our relationships less personal. It's so easy for us to misunderstand others, when we read a text or email because we're unable to hear their voice or see the expression on their faces. So why have we become addicted to devices that keep us from getting emotionally closer to people. Know that although it may seem to be more convenient to use these devices, we begin to miss the special connection we feel when we actually speak to one another. The energy that is created between people at that moment is magic. Today, limit your use of your communication device. Know that your life will survive without the use of these devices. Make a committment to verbally communicate once a day with a person, who matters in your life. Nurture your relationships by making a committment to call or be with your friends and loved ones, instead of letting technology replace the precious time we have with one another.
Texting about your first experience walking through a labyrinth,
just doesn't do it justice.
(It's difficult to explain the peace and serenity you feel when you walk through a labyrinth. Although I was told how reflective I could become, I didn't understand until I did it myself. It was a very quieting moment.)
