In life, having a competitive nature is viewed as a strength and is often times encouraged. But what happens when we find ourselves unconsciously competing against family and friends to be better than they are for the sake of satisfying our ego. When our first thoughts about someone's good fortune is "I could have done that" or "I know I can do better than that" instead of "I'm so happy for them". Balancing the spirit of competition so that it doesn't affect all parts of your life is a challenging skill that needs constant nurturing and attention. Today, be aware of how often your thoughts, words, and actions reflect your competitive side.
